Screening-Participants receive a medical screening to determine the appropriate treatment option and level of medical supervision. The medically supervised treatment option includes a physical exam before beginning weight loss. During the diet, patients have scheduled medical visits, laboratory blood analysis, and EKG’s.
Weekly Classes & Coaching- Specific life-long skills and necessary lifestyle behaviors for keeping the weight off are taught and practiced. Simple strategies for integrating physical activity are a primary focus. Participants receive telephone and / or email support from their coaches in addition to attending mandatory classes each week.
Maintenance- After the weight loss phase, participants attend weekly classes, where they receive support and learn additional strategies for maintaining their weight and health in the “real world.” Personal coaches work closely with each individual to practice and over-practice healthier weight management skills until they become second nature.
Published Data-
HMR sponsored and researched weight loss data have
been published in the New England Journal of Medicine,
